Attn: People Who Can Make Mash-Ups

October 31, 2009

Listen to Into the Dark by Ben Lee.

Then listen to Hey Julie by Fountains of Wayne.

Now mash them up please :)

If you don’t see the resemblance I’ve recorded myself singing Hey Julie with Into the Dark in the background. I tried to do vice versa but I don’t actually know how Into the Dark goes since every time I’ve heard it I’ve been singing along with it Hey Julie (EDIT: well what do you know, I did it).

Don’t mind my retarded voice. In my defence the key is a little low.

Me!

My testing officer was a stern sort of Santa-Claus man. He said “just relax” after calling me to the register and after that didn’t say a single word except for instructions. Stern Santa didn’t make me drive anywhere too difficult. 30 minutes went by quick and when I got my marking sheet back I was jumping up and down.

So to make the most of my new licence I drove to M’s for group work. M however wasn’t home at the time and I decided to drive around while I waited. I ended up going all the way to C’s house and back, just to see if I can. And apart from getting lost twice and missing a turn and getting myself into a bus’s blind spot and then changing lanes without signalling and making the car on my right brake for me I believe the trip was a success.

After M and I finished our slides I started heading home but then realised I didn’t want to go home. Then I remembered MD was finishing work in about 20 minutes and he had told me earlier that he was catching the train. So I drove to Burwood to give him a lift home. I think tonight has been very worthwhile indeed :)

Last Day at Greenwood: Photos!

October 27, 2009

Today was my last shift at Greenwood. I know I’ve complained about work a lot, but it’s only when I’m leaving that I realise how good I had it and how attached I’ve become to the shop and its people. On the extremely small chance that any of my now-ex-colleagues are reading this, thanks again for the presents and everything :)

(And if you don’t want your photo on my blog, tell me!)

IMG_7887This is M, the pharmacist-in-charge. I’ve spent more time in the dispensary with her than anywhere else in the pharmacy.

Interesting fact: I met her daughter A on Bored of Studies forums in year 12. I remembered A lived in Chatswood so one day I overheard M talking to her daughter using the same name and knowing that M lived in Chatswood I asked and found out that Bored of Studies girl was in fact M’s daughter. I decided not to mention anything about A dating this guy she met on the forum.

I remember I used to leave my wallet lying around the dispensary and M would nag me to keep it out of sight in case it gets stolen. I never bothered and then one day she decided to hide it to teach me a lesson and it worked except a few weeks later I lost it in Kirribilli.

Productivity

October 23, 2009

I’ve been so so lazy for the past couple of months. I didn’t study. I didn’t pull my weight in group work. I promised the gym I’ll update my bank details which they’ve somehow managed to delete like four months ago and still hadn’t done it and as a result owed them $300. I was given my new Chemist Warehouse contract three weeks ago and only just managed to post it off and it turns out I hadn’t followed instructions and did the whole thing wrong. I haven’t been able to print anything from home because the toner had run out at the beginning of the semester and nobody had found time to replace it.

So today and yesterday I fixed it all. My new boss Pierre wasn’t happy about my abysmally delayed response to paperwork so I went home in the middle of the day to fetch the documents he wanted photocopied, went to uni for the PBL tute and then to the pharmacy to drop off the copies only to find that my super details were missing. So then I went home again and checked my files and failed to find it.

I called BT this morning for my super account details. I was five minutes away from the pharmacy but didn’t have time to find a place to print out and hand in the forms because I had a group meeting for DSM at 12:00 pm and I didn’t want to be late. So after the meeting I went to the library to print and fill the business super form and then to the pharmacy to hand it in. On the way I called Fitness First and made a settlement with them that if I pay my overdue fees within 7 days they’ll waive 50% of it.

Then at the end of the day C took me to Officeworks so I could print out my Management tute notes and buy toner. Then while he was getting raped in Dota I did two week’s worth of lectures and tutes.

So after all that, I’m feeling a bit awesome :)

Drugs

October 22, 2009

I’ve never done drugs, not so much because I refuse to, more so because I’ve never had the opportunity. I’ve never been offered anything. I suppose if I were to be a pharmacist this would be a good thing and if I keep talking about how I would have jumped at the chance to get stoned I might find myself unemployed. If someone was fired from a bank for using the word “recession” on his Facebook wall then there’s no doubt this is a little compromising.

But seriously though. Maybe I really didn’t get out enough. Maybe I’ve been deprived of bad influences. And now it’s too late because now I know enough to get all worried about composition and pharmacokinetics.

The Secret to MD’s Glowing Skin

October 18, 2009

MD: Just another of those things you don’t know about me
I’m just a big ? to you!
Me: Please
I know SOME THINGS about you
MD: They might be true in your mind
But they are nothing short of fallacies!
Me: I know you have pansy moisturiser behind your Naruto poster
MD: One of the few things I would rather you not know
